Please take some time to explore more about our church through this website. This entire site has been designed for you and so most of the information you'll need before visiting can be found on this very same page. If you have any questions please contact us at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or just call us at 931-528-3660. We would be honored to hear from you. At any time you can scroll through this page to find answers to specific questions. Thank again for stopping by! The River is probably not going to be like other churches you may have visited in the past. We are not about religion, rules, or tradition. Instead, we are about relationships and helping people connect or reconnect with God. Our focus is on Loving God, Loving People, and Impacting the World. We focus on loving God through our Sunday services. We concentrate on loving people through our life groups, and we impact the world through our involvement in serving our community and the world. We would love for you to stop by and check out one of our services on Sunday morning at 9:00 am and again at 10:45 am. What are your services like? Our services may look a little different from other churches or even different from the previous week! Why? Well first of all we’re serious about helping you connect with God. Our services include great music with a high energy band, videos, and practical messages that apply to your life. You can also meet new friends in a casual, come as you are setting. How do I get there? We meet at 1200 Miracle Road on Sundays at 9:00 am and again at 10:45 am. Take Willow Avenue south across I-40 (it turns into Burgess Falls Road.) Once you cross the interstate take the first left onto Green Gate Road. Green Gate dead ends into Miracle Road to the left. Just come on up the hill. Guest parking is in front of the building. What can I expect from my first experience? When you arrive at The River you will be greeted with a warm smile. You will be encouraged to come on in and get some coffee and refreshments as you get comfortable in our worship center. Stop by the guest services table for information and assistance. If you have children we will help you get your kids, birth through the 6th grade, to our cool children’s area for their own experience. You can expect an environment with upbeat music and a chance to meet new people. While we try to be creative with what we do in our services, we usually sing along with the band, hear a message from the Bible, have time to greet others, and a chance to respond back to God. We hope that our worship service will give you a chance to connect with God and that He will change your life. At the end of the service you’ll have an opportunity to let us know if there is anything we can do for you. As you leave the service be sure to stop by The Next Step Table to pick up some more info about The River and a little gift from us as our thanks for stopping by. Where can I take my children? We have a great children’s area for your kids (birth through 6th grade). Our kids program seeks to love your children and provide a safe place where they can experience God on their own level. This is a fun environment with games, activities, and a Bible lesson. In the foyer look for someone from Guest Services who can direct you to the children’s ministry check-in center. For more information call our children’s director Erin Horner at 528-3660. What if I have a child with special needs? We also have a special needs children’s ministry at The River. Two families on our leadership team have children of their own with special needs, and we have a heart for special needs families at The River. We put a team of volunteers to together to work with each child as a “buddy.” The buddy goes to children’s church with your child so that you can go to the service in peace and comfort knowing your special needs child is being taken well care of. If you call us in advance at 931-528-3660 or email Jeff Davidson at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it we can assist you in assembling a buddy team specific for your child and to make sure a buddy is present when you visit. Do you have a youth group? Our Project 180 Youth Group meets on Wednesday evenings at The River beginning at 5:15. If you have a child in grades 7-12, come by on a Wednesday for Bible study, cool hang out time and activities, and a worship experience. For more information call Steve Chatman our family pastor at 528-3660. How do I get involved? A great way to start is by joining a life group. Life groups are opportunities for us to love people by living our lives together. We believe that our faith is meant to be lived out in the context of relationships and community. Our Life Groups meet in people's homes as we enjoy friendships together. We study God’s word together, pray together, and support each other and care for each other. We believe this is the environment where our faith is able to grow on an ongoing basis. At The River we have all kinds of life groups of all types meeting throughout the week. Visit the life group table in the foyer on Sunday or visit the life group page here on this website for more details. We also have opportunities for you to serve the world and our local community. We want to see our community changed with the love of God. We will provide opportunities to serve others in practical ways in the community through a variety of events and ministries. We also have areas where you can serve during our Sunday services by greeting, parking, guest services, hospitality, volunteering in our children’s area, as well as in a bunch of other areas.
